Pros

Great Company to work for. Usual pressures with Out of Funding learners but to be expected.

Cons

Even though you are field based, they rip you off by registering your base as iTec house in Cardiff so they save significantly on paying your expenses. Therefore, if you visit learners near head office they do not pay you. I was out of pocket to the tune of around £150 in fuel each month. Work / life - expect to work 60 hours per week with managers who LOVE spreadsheets

Pros

There are no pros to being a Learner at ITEC

Cons

I've been a learner in ITEC Skills for about 2 Years, Since then i have achieved absolutely nothing. I'd like to go into Health and Social Care, For my first year I was placed in a Cafe, I was never visited by a placement officer, I asked multiple times to leave the placement but never heard back. The only reason I was removed from the placement is because I was admitted into hospital while on placement. The Cardiff Centre looks amazing at first but once you spend a week here you'll learn that the "learners" do anything but learn, They Vape, Smoke Weed, Wear inappropriate clothing, Scream and shout like children. If you ask me there only for the weekly payments. The pay is horrible, £60 p/w gets you nowhere and that IF they pay you, I've had multiple occasions where I apparently hadn't signed my time sheet, even though I did and have proof. They took money from me because me and my assessor apparently didn't sign the timesheet, Even though we both did and tried telling this to a worker within ITEC. If you're looking for somewhere to learn and actually gain knowledge, I'd highly suggest skipping ITEC and finding an alt training provider.
