Pros

Product capabilities and engineering support allow sales to go into every meeting knowing that they can win any competitive bake-off. Strong ties with both VMware and Microsoft allow Shavlik to have a very a wide customer-base. R&D team is dedicated and always looking to improve the product. Fairly reliable job security as long as you come close to your Quotas.

Cons

Personal Growth usually takes the back-burner to very high Quarterly Quotas (40% increases year to year). If you make your Quarterly numbers, there is a good chance your Annual Quota could be revised to show a substantial increase in the middle of the year. Executive leadership can appear somewhat powerless at times due to being a subsidiary of a larger company and our company marching orders are not up for debate.

Pros

Flexibility of schedule, PTO is good

Cons

Code base is a dumpster fire. The majority of the team is in India and the engineers there don't really care or know anything about writing good code. Management is screaming AI, AI, AI and expecting a huge increase in productivity but meanwhile I'm fighting my environment every day because someone has broken master with their crappy code.
