Night shift co workers are amazing! We had each other’s backs and we were able to bounce ideas off one another. Night shift differential is a good amount.
Cons
Preferential treatment to those that worked longer but were lazy and didn’t contribute much. Concerns that were brought to management were left to question. I never received responses back after bringing up major concerns that affected my duties. Night shift is treated as the step child of the company. Little to no resources. Day shift liked to throw night shift under the bus for any inconvenience to them when it was really their own doings. When we had meetings to bring the entire office together, we would accommodate everyone’s schedules besides night shifts. We were constantly left out of pertinent information. Bonuses annually and quarterly are promised in job descriptions and offer letters before hire, but out of the 3 years I was with the company, I only saw 2 or 3. Sexist and racist company. I, a female, was passed off for promotions that I was highly qualified and the best choice for to men and was lied to for the reasons that he got the position over me. I had better KPI’s and was told I didn’t. I had a co worker, black male, passed up at least 7 times for a promotion to white males and myself when I first started. He was more than qualified and was doing to job of 2-3 people on weekend night shift but they went with other candidates off of assumptions, they never asked him personally if he wanted a certain shift. Short staffed. We were so short staffed for over 2 years to a point where mine and others PTO was being denied. I left the company with over 86 hours of PTO that they refused to pay out because “Wisconsin law states that we don’t have to pay it out”. Any time a mistake was made, you got a strong talking to and a write up. Never the tools on how to fix the mistake. Driver are walking all over their managers and office staff even if the drivers are in the wrong. They have little to no consequences. Example: a driver said in a meeting that “these Mexicans are running around like ANIMALS” when it was Mexican independence days. Another driver reported to HR and they got a verbal warning on it. The same driver later, yelled and I mean yelled at another office employee to a point that they cried about something so minute and they only got a verbal warning again. They continued the behavior with no consequences going forward. To me, no one should come to work thinking and preparing that they are going to get yelled at for helping.
