Pros

Some really lovely funny people in lower roles

Cons

Horrible horrible management and culture - salaries are lowest of the low, no pay reviews unless you threaten to leave, zero training or development opportunities. Also hugely un-PC environment, management say word for word “don’t worry, we’re not woke here”. It is 98% white private school and I have seen people who are on the spectrum be bullied out because they don’t “fit in”. The founder has also sexually harassed many young female employees and nothing gets done.

Pros

- Flexibility in working hours - Approx 80% of the team (outside of leadership) are genuinely nice - Good work for the property sector

Cons

Never have I come across a company with such a disconnect between who they think they are and who they actually are. This is made worse by senior leadership delusional enough to actually stand by and watch as the gap widens between their words and their actions. It is a toxic work environment with nothing less than a dictator leading the charge and a selection of chosen favourites that support every poor decision made. At the core of the problem is a lack of respect for staff. There’s a clear misconception that if they put on a cool party or pay for a round of drinks after work, they’ve done everything they need to do to show respect for staff. It just doesn’t work like that and people can see through the smoke and mirrors. There’s so many red flags that shouldn’t be ignored. Communication is poor, there’s a huge lack of honesty, there is no trust from senior staff, there’s undeniable favouritism, the benefits package is minimal, growth opportunities hardly come to fruition and there’s a lack of prioritisation of good management. All in all, I would not recommend J2.
