Beware this is a cult - Human Resources JM Family Enterprises Employee Review

Pros

Competitive pay for the area.

Cons

I have been waiting years to write this review. I was a leader in HR. This organization is really a cult. The cult leaders are the executives and the owners. If you are new to the organization – do NOT make any recommendations for improvements, be prepared to be treated badly by your peers and manager, they have a probationary period so be aware – they terminate a lot of new employees this way that they do not like. Leaders in HR are promoted and rewarded based on how many serious employee complaints (against leadership) that they sweep under the rug. They will not take your complaint seriously and strategize how to eliminate you from the cult. Systems and processes are antiquated – but again, do not mention improvements – they will come after you. Also, be concerned if you are over 40. They blatantly discriminate against those in and above this age bracket. I know they will ask new employees and executives to write good reviews to bury this one. That is their strategy. They are NOT a great place to work – just pay well for the area.

Pros

JM provides good opportunities for the range of professional corporate occupations available in South Florida.

Cons

Too much "get along, go along" culture which may be okay if one is planning to stay with JM through retirement, but is not helpful if one's career progression involves employment with other companies. As a rule, the best places I worked at encouraged creativity, systems thinking, adaptability, integrity, and trust. These values felt lacking during my six-month tenure at JM back in 2014.
