Pros

The CEO has a beach house, and during the summer he is not there as often. My experience made me appreciate a good boss, and better to handle small stressers in my new job, because my best day at JRW was still equivalent to my worst day at every other job I have had. They do somehow attract great, talented, people that most of the time are great to work with, however, the good ones don't stay for long because they realize they can do better (which is true).

Cons

INSANE CEO. If he messes up, he places blame elsewhere. If an employee messes up the smallest thing, he rants on and on and makes an example of them in front of the whole company. The only weeks that didn't involve him SCREAMING to someone for no reason were the weeks he was on vacation or at a conference. He insists on meetings after meetings that are pointless and doesn't understand when something he asks you to do takes longer than he thinks it should. He is so computer illiterate that he can't even type, and therefore believes anything computer related should take no longer than 1 hour. Extremely strict on PTO, and even if you have nothing to do insists you stay until 5:00. I personally felt like I wasted every second there, and woke up with panic attacks during my time there, even when I have no history of that. The whole family works there, and preferential treatment is extremely obvious to his son and daughter. I would not recommend this place as a workplace OR as an employee benefit firm. They say they are experts in employee benefits, but do not understand that employees really just want to be respected and praised (and awarded) when they do well.

Pros

Best company culture I’ve experienced: friendly, collaborative, and results-driven. Clear focus on professional development – training programs, certifications, and mentorship. Managers encourage people to work together. Supportive and knowledgeable coworkers who share their expertise and answer my questions. Flexible PTO policy and retirement benefits.

Cons

Would be nice to have more opportunities to socialize with my coworkers.

Pros

The people were not hostile, but the environment was not set up to properly support anyone new.

Cons

• I received absolutely no onboarding during my first week, not even the most basic introduction. • No one sat down with me, there was no documentation, and no explanation of how anything was supposed to work. • I was given a desk and a computer that barely functioned and left completely on my own. • I spent the next two months struggling just to understand basic workflows that should have been clearly documented or at least explained once. • People were polite enough when I had to repeatedly ask questions, but the expectation that I would somehow learn everything through guesswork was completely unreasonable. • By the third month I had wasted enormous amounts of time reinventing processes and working inefficiently because no one provided proper training.
