Pros

SME company (even if the owner claims it is international company, actually they are SME but they have small office in Japan and US with 1-2 staff there). Sg office has around 20 people consisting of sales, operations, finance, procurement, IT and R&D team. Factory is in Batam and relationship between SG and Batam office are hostile caused by owner's bad relationship with his relatives handling Batam office/ factory. Be careful as this will impact your work when you need to deal with factory people in Batam. Employees are friendly and easy to talk to and work together. Not easy to get fired. In fact, many staff resign now and then as the situation is really bad and Management always blame staff when problems occur. The resignation process is always made very difficult and you are subject to humiliation and sometimes financial compensation when you resign. Be prepared mentally and financially.

Cons

Owner (Management) is arrogant and suspicious of their own employees. No respect, no trust to employees. Employees are treated like strangers as if we wanted to steal from them. From owner's words himself, people who resign are "cheaters who cheat around to make a living." This sounds unbelievable but these are the kinds of words that come out from the owner of the company. Salary issue is often brought up to "educate" employees. The work and products themselves are interesting to work on. The employees and team are friendly and help each other. However, the one thing that employees cannot bear is the owner of the company who does not even care what comes out from his mouth towards his employees on a constant basis. Salary is often paid late and employees need to queue to collect the cheque. Some employees get salary by GIRO, but majority are by cheque. Employees benefits are very minimum. There is no insurance coverage. Leave is also very minimum starting from 10 days per year and sometimes the management makes it forced leaved last minute as they do not care about employees' personal plan. Meetings are often purposely set at 6pm so employees have to stay back beyond work hours. This company thinks they own employees' life and that they can control your life.

Pros

There was some initial exposure to basic finance tasks such as inventory reporting, cost updates, and data entry. At the start, the team seemed approachable and willing to help.

Cons

My experience turned negative due to a lack of communication, unclear expectations, and unprofessional handling of the internship appraisal. Despite completing my assigned work, I received a failing evaluation without prior warning or any opportunity to understand or address concerns. Attempts to clarify the situation were met with silence, as my direct manager blocked me when I reached out to discuss the appraisal. The workflow was poorly structured, guidance was inconsistent, and there was minimal feedback throughout the internship, making the final outcome feel unexpected and unfair.

Pros

I have been working in JSB for over 7 years. The group companies have about 600 employees in U.S, Europe, Japan including Singapore. We have about 30 persons in JSB and significant proportion work here for many years. In last few years, I noticed there were few new employees failed to catch up with peer expectations and they typically lost their jobs within first two years. No wonder these people wrote misleading reviews with false accusation. For example, myself received salary through bank transfer timely every month.

Cons

Recently I was surprised to see such bad reviews here as a colleague of mine told me. I decided to write this review. The fact is if this company is so bad as portrayed by those one star reviews, it would not be possible to keep so many long-stayed employees that contribute to winning so many international awards and U.S. patents. Last year, we celebrated for winning a prestige Singapore Government’s IPOS agency awards for our contributions in alleviating pandemic. We are not so dumb to stay here that long if this company treats us badly. Well, losing a job in such a prestige company can be painful, but make better common sense to write something sensible and responsibly rather than diverting self-incapability to others.
