Newer Building, most co-workers are great.

I was recently employed in a very informal manner. The owners, who are married, often address employees in a casual and abrupt way, occasionally berating them publicly, saying inappropriate things. Their children also work there, which sometimes gives the impression of favoritism. Additionally, the environment felt somewhat exclusionary, despite one of the owners being female. Although some team members who were not in senior management had private offices, I was placed in an open-plan area. As a creative professional, having a quiet space is essential for my work. The company requires employees to be onsite five days a week, which is uncommon for digital roles today and suggests a tendency towards micromanagement. A significant issue arose during my onboarding. I was hired without proper equipment and left to manage on my own while the senior management and owners were away for over a week. Consequently, I received no onboarding, very little support, and unrealistic expectations were set without any guidance. Despite having over 10 years of experience, I was told I lacked the necessary experience and was let go abruptly after just 2.5 weeks. The lack of support and communication, coupled with the sudden termination, leads me to believe my intellectual property was leveraged without intention to retain me. This situation was particularly disappointing as I had hoped to contribute significantly to their campaigns. The lack of support, poor communication, and sudden termination indicate a toxic and unstable work environment. I would save yourself the pain and time and find work elsewhere.
