Pros

-Young salesdesk, good if you’re right out of college -Most of the desk managers are great to work with but upper management is awful

Cons

-Tone deaf Management. They refuse to acknowledge any constructive feedback. If you ask for simple things like a cost of living adjustment in one of the fastest growing cities in the US (Nashville office), they will just throw an ice cream party and call it square. -Lack of job security. This company had a huge run at the start of the last decade and overloaded their salesdesk with highly paid individuals. As the annuity industry is shrinking it is the new employees that will be paying the price for bad decision making. They recently laid off half the salesdesk in one day. Funny enough another 3rd quit after because the work environment has become so toxic. -More work added and pay decreases each year -No upward mobility -I know I’m listing this twice but upper management is that bad -Refuse to innovate -Not a good place for idea sharing, if you say literally anything against the Jackson European narrative (even if they ask for ways to improve) this will be taken as a complaint by management and you will be blackballed from ever being promoted. It will never be considered or addressed. -No additional incentives besides regular pay -This is just a launching pad for family/friends of RD’s and upper mgmt. They don’t even try to hide the nepotism -The culture went from being a place you wanted to work to almost non existent I worked there for years and slowly saw the changes from happy workers to miserable robots. -Compensation. For the amount of production the comp is laughable and below the industry average. However your external will be making 7-10x’s more than you do if you find that encouraging.

Pros

Excellent company to grow and advance your career.

Cons

The 3rd party company that supports LOA is extremely difficult to work with regardless if you are extremely accountable and organized which can make LOA situations stressful.

Pros

Work-life balance and most individual contributors are nice to work with.

Cons

Leadership get to their positions by being in the company a long time, not through competence or merit. As a result, all of the worst symptoms of bad management come out. Poor decision making, favoritism, incompetence, retaliation, etc, are everywhere.
