Pros

I personally really loved working for Jackson Hewitt. The co workers were amazing, and everyone did there best to help out. They have a microsoft teams chat that allows you to reach out to anyone whenever you need it. It was my first year and I learned more than I could ever imagine.

Cons

The only cons I would say is that sometimes you won't be able to get 40 hour weeks. But this varies depending upon which location you are in. Also, your hourly pay is about 16.5 an hour, so definitely under market value.

Pros

Great regional manager, coolest person ever. Every once in a while they'll do competitions for cash.

Cons

Management is passive aggressive. They are always "busy" and will not get back to you in a timely manner. They will type in Teams VERY passive aggressive like randomly putting caps in their message to "convey" the importance of their message, which it does absolutely nothing. They had me training people for 17$ an hr and slave myself to the company... in my area that kind of pay doesn't cover ANY of the bills!! There is unnecessary drama with the tax preparers too, and some treat it like high school, again I dont get paid enough for that.. Management has favorites and will work them to death! So if you're not willing to slave yourself to Jackson Hewitt for four months and are here for something to pass time, you won't be a favorite. Also a high turnover rate, I mean you never see the same people from year to year. If you have a family and come to this job, kiss that personal life goodbye. They'll work you to the death until April 15th. Also also, if you come back, expect a minimal raise. They give their first years really good pay and treat their second/third years like trash when it comes to pay and blames it on how the "company cannot afford it". So they can afford to pay a new tax pro 19$ and I'm stuck at 17$? Wild.
