Your attitude determines your tip. And 10% of your sales is lost into the ether. - Server Japango Employee Review

Pros

I loved working on Pearl st. Incredible guests that take care of you and a fun environment that was fueled by coworkers

Cons

Your attitude determines your shifts. While this sounds common ground, this is taken to an extreme level. People get “punished” by getting their shifts taken and many were fired over bringing up valid concerns regarding their experience at Japango. I’ve worked over a decade in service and I’ve never seen such covert management style. You tip out 10% of your sales to bar, FOH, and kitchen. You need to be available full time, there’s over 15 servers, yet they don’t allow you any form of scheduling preference.

Pros

The owner cares deeply about his company and employees and will give opportunities for advancement if you ask. The staff is kind, food is incredible. Pay was great as well.

Cons

Not necessarily a con but it's a successful busy restaurant so expect to be working longer hours but with a higher pay.

Pros

The coworkers can be great

Cons

Toxic environment to work in. No set schedule. Expect full time availability, yet don’t give you enough shifts to make enough on a regular basis. Cants have a second job, They have high expectations but disappointments are constant from the top. Always understaffed or out of supplies. Tip out is automatic on sales and gives support staff no incentive to work harder for the team. Unsanitary practices. Sections are spread out in many areas and it’s impossible to give the best service way too often.
