Pros

The work is remote which allows a semi-balanced work/home life. The team at JenniferMaker is a group of talented individuals who are just AMAZING. The employees are a joy to work alongside and I have made many life-long friendships from my time there. JenniferMaker offers competitive pay.

Cons

I feel compelled to share my distressing experience at this company. Despite her kind facade, Jennifer, the CEO, hides behind her COO and allows her to publicly demean employees on various platforms, creating a hostile atmosphere. Micro-management is rampant, hindering efficiency and professional growth, despite the company's claim to follow a framework. While the company offers competitive salaries, the 'Jenuine' facade is fake, as employees fear public humiliation by upper management. Capable individuals are stifled due to the COO's unchecked authority and Jennifer's complacency. The COO's negligence, frequent over indulgence in alcohol, and nepotism toward family members disrupt the team's workflow, undermining morale. Most disheartening is the company's response to morale issues – instead of addressing concerns, employees are swiftly shown the door. I strongly advise against considering this company as an employer due to its toxic culture and inept upper management. Future employees, beware of unscrupulous practices and insincere leadership. My time there has left me with genuine distress, and I sincerely caution against joining this organization.

Pros

- Perhaps the first company I've worked for that follows their core values - actually measuring success and weighing decisions based on them. - Leadership, from the CEO down, are committed to making decisions that are authentic and genuinely what the community is looking for. Yes, this is a for-profit company, but there is never the feel of any initiatives being 'money grabs' - everything seems balanced for value and what is being created/shared. - Communication, Morale, Leadership, and overall Direction have all improved drastically in the last year. An executive that was at the root of issues was removed, and a commitment to clarity, purpose, and open communication has been refreshing and encouraging. - Nice communication and teamwork, not always possible with fully remote positions...and speaking of - - Remote position - Offers a great deal of consistent flexibility. - The Crafting Community is vibrant and excited - and it's a blast being able to be a part of the process of helping those grow in their crafting skills and execution. - Pay is competitive.

Cons

- A bit of 'semi-controlled chaos' - there is a lot going on, many projects and deadlines, and at certain times of the year it can feel overwhelming. A dedication to re-visiting processes and becoming more efficient and organized shows promise to continue to help correct this. - Growing pains that are common for a business that go from being small, to medium-sized, and is trying to harness what it takes to have sustained growth.

Pros

Remote work is the only pro.

Cons

JM takes credit for everything when it’s her Team that does the hard work. As an employee you are never recognized by her. She appears to be this amazing person, but treats her employees like we don’t exist. She runs from anything that is a hard conversation. She’s so worried about what the public thinks but doesn’t care about the people who make all the designs and do the work. It’s like being with someone daily who is emotionally abusive. Don’t work for her. She will ruin your love of crafting!
