Pros

The pay was always really good. For a small company, it was nice to have insurance as well.

Cons

The CEO will completely look the other way in how her leadership team below her treat hourly employees. Belittling, harassment, acts of revenge are completely turned a blind eye to. The CEO is too soft and can't handle conflicts and was constantly "shielded" from it. 🙄 They don't live up to their culture or values. The CEO never wanted anyone of color to contribute to video content as it was always needed to be assumed by the viewers it was always the CEO in the video.

Pros

- Perhaps the first company I've worked for that follows their core values - actually measuring success and weighing decisions based on them. - Leadership, from the CEO down, are committed to making decisions that are authentic and genuinely what the community is looking for. Yes, this is a for-profit company, but there is never the feel of any initiatives being 'money grabs' - everything seems balanced for value and what is being created/shared. - Communication, Morale, Leadership, and overall Direction have all improved drastically in the last year. An executive that was at the root of issues was removed, and a commitment to clarity, purpose, and open communication has been refreshing and encouraging. - Nice communication and teamwork, not always possible with fully remote positions...and speaking of - - Remote position - Offers a great deal of consistent flexibility. - The Crafting Community is vibrant and excited - and it's a blast being able to be a part of the process of helping those grow in their crafting skills and execution. - Pay is competitive.

Cons

- A bit of 'semi-controlled chaos' - there is a lot going on, many projects and deadlines, and at certain times of the year it can feel overwhelming. A dedication to re-visiting processes and becoming more efficient and organized shows promise to continue to help correct this. - Growing pains that are common for a business that go from being small, to medium-sized, and is trying to harness what it takes to have sustained growth.

Pros

Remote work is the only pro.

Cons

JM takes credit for everything when it’s her Team that does the hard work. As an employee you are never recognized by her. She appears to be this amazing person, but treats her employees like we don’t exist. She runs from anything that is a hard conversation. She’s so worried about what the public thinks but doesn’t care about the people who make all the designs and do the work. It’s like being with someone daily who is emotionally abusive. Don’t work for her. She will ruin your love of crafting!
