Pros

Unlimited junkfood, free laundry, in the heart of crime-ridden Venice, you get a key for bathroom access

Cons

Very young and inexperienced staff (mostly hired through internships), disparate "teams" (one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing), new emerging leadership not allowed to lead (often pushed out of rotating doors), legacy exec team (primarily one individual) is a "jack of all trades, master of none," company's written values do not align with day-to-day actions

I am very sorry that this person had such a bad experience at our company. There are a few points I would like to address for anyone else reading this review: 1. Yes we have interns and they do not have prior work experience. That's the definition of an intern. :) That said, our intern program includes some of the best young artists from the best art schools in the world. They are AMAZING. We could not be more proud of the caliber of the folks we bring in as interns and, even as CEO, I feel beyond lucky to work with these folks. 2. Yes, the various functions at JibJab have not always been as integrated as we would like and we have worked hard to change that. I believe we have made huge strides on this front over the past year but there is always more to do. Not many companies out there employ both artists and engineers. Getting all the left-brainers and right-brainers to see the world through the same lens isn't easy. That said, it's what makes us unique and special. 3. The emerging leadership we have today is leading -- big time. They are making the decisions that drive the business day to day within clearly defined strategic goals. 4. With regards to the legacy exec team reference, I do not know the specific individual this is referring to (and it very well could be me!) but I can honestly say that we have never had an executive who was not a master of their domain. Never. As to the "jack of all trades" aspect of this comment -- heck yeah! You need to be a jack of all trades to be leading a team in such a dynamic environment. The best executives are highly capable operating outside the narrow box of their function and the best employees are able to harness that to advance their own capabilities. I could not disagree more strongly with this aspect of the review. 5. When this review was written we had just gone through a 6 month process that involved the whole company to establish our values. We have worked hard to integrate them into daily life here at the studio and we have a lot more planned to do more on this front in 2015. While this reviewer advises potential candidates to "run the other way" I couldn't disagree more. We have 80 awesome people working here - not just talented, but great people. If you love art and technology and want to work hard making things that spread laughter, don't run the other way. Take a deeper look!

Pros

I was lucky enough to interface with the majority of others at JibJab and what was odd at first was the fact that everyone truly treated you like they wanted to be your best friend. In a remote setting I felt like part of a group that I had never seen before. Very positive. Management from the CEO down is very very employee first. Looking out for goods or bads that occur and reacting with a congratulations or a kind word respectively. Also, they allow their employees to be the CEO of their own world without meddling in what makes your talent shine.

Cons

Unfortunately business has been up and down after the first few years in covid so they run very lean. Not a bad thing, but it makes any mistake amplified so I wouldn't recommend a wallflower to go there and try to skate by.

Pros

Great and smart people, great product and really cool place to be

Cons

Tech Manager do micromanagement, doesn't pay attention to what needed and also there is a lack of shared responsibilities, one person has the decision making (tech related)
