Pros

- You have vacation days! As limited as the law allows them to be. - You get a phone and a laptop! That you have to return or buy if you leave and from colleagues that left the company, if you want to buy them they'll ask you to pay almost the full cost even if you had it for 2 years. - Work from home! Leading to complete isolation since there are no team building events. - Salary is raised every year! As low as the law allows.

Cons

- The mood at the company is very negative. Employees are overworked and stressed because management changes their minds every two weeks. They insist on marketing a dead product less attractive than even selling on Instagram. - People have been fired arbitrarily, and there's no interest from management, who have no idea how to lead the company, in having a good relationship with employees. For them, it's either you're with the company and accept everything, or you're not, and you're fired. - Zero chance of advancing your career unless you're up to lick management boots and throw your colleagues under the bus. - No company culture, no team bonding, no motivation to work, nothing. - There's this internal initiative Jimdo Cares, that's just bonkers. They don't care. They started a yoga group a couple of times a week and that's it. To care would be to have a nice friendly company culture where everyone is valued.

Dear colleague, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience with Jimdo. We’re sorry to hear you’re finding the compensation and benefits inadequate and the working environment challenging. We’d like to use this opportunity to address the concerns that you’ve raised. If you’d like to continue this discussion, please reach out to your manager or People Team via employee-experience@jimdo.com. As you mentioned, each Jimdo employee is provided with a laptop and a mobile device of choice when they first join. When employees leave the company, they have an opportunity to buy their hardware from Jimdo. The prices are not determined arbitrarily but rather are based on the residual value, taking into account the depreciation of the devices. Your statements about vacation day entitlement and salary raises are factually inaccurate. The vacation entitlement of all our employees, regardless of their geography, is at least 26 calendar days per year. According to German labor legislation, the minimum entitlement is 20 days. This means that we are actually above the legal minimum entitlement in Germany. When it comes to salary increases, a company is not obliged by law to implement any salary adjustments at a minimum percentage, until someone is employed at minimum wages and the statutory minimum wage has been revised by the government. None of our employees are employed at minimum wages. Having said that , it is always our intention to offer our employees fair and attractive salaries. In this regard, we work closely with an external partner who provides us with information on current and industry-related salary benchmarks. In terms of working from home, according to our surveys, the majority of Jimdo team members appreciate the flexibility of working remotely. We’re sorry you’ve found working from home challenging. While originally we moved to remote work out of necessity when the pandemic started, we’ve since benefited from multiple advantages it brings, including flexibility and working with talented colleagues from around the world. Regarding career development, it is important for Jimdo that employees feel that they are growing, developing, and learning new skills. We offer many ways for employees to take charge of their own development. As you may have seen, we recently launched Udemy Business for all employees, and we have a Core Management Program in which dozens of colleagues have built their leadership skills. While many see promotion or advancement as the only evidence of growth, at Jimdo we focus on opportunities to expand skills and responsibilities and work on interesting cross-functional projects. You also mention our Jimdo Cares program. It does indeed include free virtual yoga classes, among many other offerings, such as access to the mental wellbeing platform Nilo.health, regular wellness initiatives, and social events for employees organized by Jimdo Hub. Once again, we encourage you to share your feedback and/or concerns with your manager or People Team via employee-experience@jimdo.com. as it appears a lot of your concerns are factually incorrect and we would like you to avail of all the benefits the company offers.

Pros

Jimdo is a place filled with talented, dedicated people who are myopically focused on achieving their mission of helping their customers be successful. If you're a person looking to learn new skills, take on additional responsibility, be challenged by complex projects and develop your career, this is THE place for you to be. Additionally, Jimdo is incredibly flexible and treats their employees like humans, values diversity, asks for employee's opinions, is super transparent and invests in their employee's development.

Cons

Jimdo is in a period of transition and change (almost all for the better). However, you have to know that, and want that. As examples, policies evolve, new people are hired, new products are always launched, tests occur constantly, etc. If you are looking for a place that will allow you to skate by without hard work, this is NOT the place for you.
