Pros

There are really good employees at a lower level working together to push things through. Bonus and pay rise if you are lucky enough to dodge their unwritten polices. Share scheme and various other bits are appreciated but no longer competitive compared to other companies.

Cons

Workplace environment is toxic, management sit in an ivory tower who are all pally with eachother. Rather than fix issues with poor managers they move them around or force them out if you are not a yes person. Mental health support and safety are out the window, EHS team has very little support from site management and are unable to drive things to protect our staff because of lack of prioritisation. Safety only comes first when it is in a public forum but as soon as it begins to impact the customer we must compromise safety. It always falls to the person making a mistake or getting hurt rather than the poor systems and falling apart plant. The state of where operators are working is appauling and covered up when audits or HSE visits take place so we never broadcast an accurate representation of day to day. Everything is brushed under the carpet, you have to advocate for years before any small changes come into play. Duplication of work as well as mass redundancies and remaining staff are left to pick up the pieces with little considerations to the pressures this adds leading to long term sickness. If you value your work life balance and mental health I do not advocate working at Johnson Matthey, most jobs are falsely advertised and already allocated to people before interviews commence, you'll have to wait for months before HR actually get back to you and the pay banding is clear as mud. Do not expect ethical or transparent working/communications.

Pros

If you are lazy, this is the place for you

Cons

If you are somewhat competent, don’t worry, management doesn’t care. Employees are part of their politics game. From orders delay to customer complaints, management’s resolutions are to put in more tedious complicated system and lay off actual workers. Constant restructuring every 6 months with no idea what they want. Base pay is below average. Not sure why investors are still investing and why customers are still buying. I would give 0 star if I can.
