Pros

- Occasional gifts for holidays, work anniversaries, and birthdays. - Makes an attempt to appear inclusive.

Cons

Where to start. This company claims to be inclusive, but is one of the most toxic workplaces I've ever experienced in my career. Management is full of micro-managing bullies. They retaliate against me, a person with a disability, when I asked for reasonable accommodations- which is super illegal, by the way! Gossiping, passive aggressiveness, and bullying are the norm. There is no in-house HR, so good luck resolving any issues with your manager or having even the appearance of an employee advocate. When I joined the company, I was told I would be part of a team of three- while they fully knew that the other members were being let go and/or resigning. In my first week, the work of an entire team was shoved into my lap. Was I paid well for my efforts? No. Were the benefits good? Also no. I carried on this way for more than a year hoping for an improvement, and was rewarded for my efforts with a measly raise that still did not put me anywhere near the accepted compensation range for my title/experience. But it was the pandemic and work was scarce, so I held on. They burn through employees quickly, especially for a startup. Few people last longer than a year or two. Probably because of the aforementioned problems. I contemplated resigning so many times, but was ultimately fired without the input of my direct manager, who quit shortly after. It's such a shame, because when I joined up, I fully believed in the company's product and mission. Unfortunately, they are just like every other business that makes a big show of being diverse and inclusive: a sham.
