Pros
I've made some genuinely good connections. There are some great people at Journey.
Cons
The company operates in a constant state of chaos disguised as a “startup environment.” Priorities, strategies, and metrics change frequently, often without clear direction, making it difficult to build momentum or feel successful.
There is a HIGH level of micromanagement with limited autonomy, and leadership often shifts direction without incorporating feedback from those closest to the work, instead relying on advisors. Daily morning meetings, daily end of day updates on your work, on top of 1:1s w/leadership and other internal meetings.
Turnover is high, which adds to the instability and increasing workload for those who remain. They attribute this to "journey not being for everyone" but in reality it's not for anyone who wants to keep some form of their sanity.
The biggest disconnect is that this is a mental health company, yet the internal environment can feel consistently stressful and unsustainable.
For anyone considering joining, especially at the leadership level during this period of transition, there's a current CCO search, it’s worth taking a VERY close look at how internal operations and culture align with the company’s mission.
This may suit those comfortable with constant change and close oversight, but for others seeking stability, clarity, and ownership, it may be a very challenging environment.
Also it's not right that tons of fake reviews come flooding in after the bad ones. We don't even have a production coordinator. Ownership and accountability is something they stress at Journey, it would be nice to see them take some.
