      Pros

      Some of the nannies were good, well intentioned- just wanting a job that would give them experience for their future career after college. One coworker was kind. Some families were nice to work with.

      Cons

      The owner was awful. He treated the nannies like “warm bodies”. He had no respect for their health and safety nor that of the 600+ families he worked with. Treated everyone with no respect or threaten lawsuits. No morals or ethics. Micromanaged but always mentioned nothing wanting to be in the business anymore. Demanded 24/7 on call hours but claimed job had a good work/life balance. Wanted employees to drive his children around to events. High employee turnover.

      Pros

      I've worked with Jovie Newport Beach since 2022. I started as an on-call nanny and worked my way up into administration. I am now in charge of recruitment, event coordination, and general management. I love the company culture and encourage families to use our services and for potential nannies to apply! I have met many great people through the Jovie network! It has been great!

      Help find you a family to work with. I could see how this could perhaps be great for part time

      LOW PAY for the job. After 3 years with Jovie, I was getting paid $16/hr and my full-time family was paying somewhere from $26-28/hr. They told my nanny family I was getting higher raises than I was. MUCH fairer companies out there. No PTO due to "not being salaried employees" even though that's not how PTO works! Constantly nagged about logging in my hours even though I was always on top of it. Going through them was a pain. Don't recommend. Always wondered if why they rebranded from College Nannies and Sitters was to try to separate from all the negative reviews.
