Pros

Good starting position for a recent graduate A lot of laboratory test training opportunities If you worked late one night you could take time off the next day Friendly work environment Quickly felt like I had a lot of responsibility/was trusted to carry out work unaccompanied

Cons

Starting salary was £26,000 and only increased to £28,000 after 3 months probation Sometimes had to work on Saturday for 0.5 days pay however would get an extra day off in lieu Can get busy and stressful sometimes and often working late Not really any career progression opportunities Pay was low compared to similar roles/my education and previous role Lab is ISO 15189 accredited

Pros

There are very few pros, if any.

Cons

The lab technician position at Juno was not worth it in my experience. The pay is low compared to the amount of work expected, and the workload is extremely high. Most of the job consists of repetitive, tiring tasks with little opportunity for growth. The lab manager is also very difficult to work with, which makes an already stressful environment even harder. Overall, I would recommend gaining lab experience somewhere else where the pay, management, and work environment are better.
