Pros
– Alright pay/salaries, however this depends on your position and time with the station. – You get to work in Austin, which is a fantastic city and place to be.
Cons
– Constant in-fighting and talking behind other people's backs, especially from newsroom and production employees. There is a lot of negativity at this workplace, and it shows. It's the culture at the #3 rated station in Austin. – Extremely dated and run-down building space. Everything here–including the technology behind the scenes–is old. It's unacceptable for top 40 television market. – Members of management rarely appreciate their subordinates hard work or effort. – This station is run by a highly controversial and politically right-leaning corporation that has made rounds in the news lately. – This is a dual affiliation news station that includes Telemundo programming on subchannel 42.2. There is constant drama, fighting, and just a general sense of meanness between the KEYE news team and the Telemundo news team. – A few people at the station have been there for 15+ years, which means they're entitled to not actually do anything when they come to work and instead shift their work to other employees. – The benefits aren't great at all. – You can work here and love what you do, but don't expect to have your work noticed or rewarded.
