Feels like a scam to spend venture capital money - Ostensibly An Engineer KIXEYE Employee Review

Pros

Free gym membership. Close proximity to a wide variety of mediocre lunch options (plus a decent curry shop and a Curry Up Now truck). Pays well which is great for those who are entering the industry and not yet worried so much about career advancement (but Kixeye is not well-regarded in the games industry at large so having it on your resume may or may not reap many benefits).

Cons

Just a few cons: ** Incompetent management, clueless leads of all disciplines. Poor scheduling, poor prioritization, poor follow-through. Peter Principle fully at work. ** Poor handling of non-junior employees. The junior employees aren't handled well either, but they tend to be too excited to realize. Personnel shuttled between projects indiscriminately due to poor planning. ** Soulless, un-fun projects designed specifically to make money off of suckers who think they are playing "hardcore" games. The one game that managed to almost make it out the door with real, well-designed gameplay was delayed in order to add player-abusing monetization to it, and when they couldn't figure it out before blowing through more budget, the project was shuttered. ** Even the snacks suck. ** The proof is in the pudding: no less than 5 active projects when I was there, all cancelled now without ever seeing the light of day (or at the most, very limited release before cancellation).
