Pros
Very positive, upbeat office environment. Most coworkers are cool people. Lots of hype.
Cons
Does not live up to the hype. In the interview you get told you will make a base pay "no matter what." This is a bald-faced lie. You only get base pay for a day IF you make sales that day and your commission doesn't equal the base pay. If it equals or exceeds base pay, you only get commission. You're told that Saturdays are optional but you will be browbeaten if you don't come in. You're told that the hours are a certain time period but if you want to advance you have to come in 2-4 hours early and stay several hours late. This is all unpaid time. If you don't work these extra unpaid hours, again you will be harangued and guilt tripped. You're expected to sink hundreds of dollars into business professional attire for a job that could easily pay $0 week. Hope you like standing outside in 100-degree weather in a suit! Ladies, hope you like standing & walking for 8-14 hours in heels! You will put thousands of miles on your car EACH MONTH with zero compensation for mileage. You will not get any sort of benefits. There is no PTO; you can simply choose not to come in to work any day and accept that you will not get paid. In the interview they might tell you that you can get health insurance after two promotions, but watch them sweat when you ask them who it's with and what the plans are. Any failure is pinned on YOU. Not enough customers in the entire store to meet your quota? You should have tried harder, use the law of averages to magic up sales! Location dried up because almost all permanent residents already have the thing you're selling? Location doesn't matter, your boss could have done it! You will hear higher ups constantly smack talking anyone who works in another industry. I once overheard a manager insult an employee's mother for having a high-ranking position in the city government instead of working for herself. Charming! And then there are your customers. Your job is literally to harass people into buying something that they don't want. Many of them react as you might expect, by being rude, confrontational, insulting, belittling, and so on. If you work outside a store you may be harassed by salesmen from other companies. If you work inside a store you will constantly be mistaken for a store employee and may have customers blow up at you when they find out you're not. They may even accuse you of something terrible, anywhere from purposefully deceiving them to being a sexual predator. To top it all off...parking sucks unless you come in at least 2 hours early. Creditco has lots & lots of these satellite companies all over the world. Some cities like Houston have several operating out of one office. They're all the same Ponzi scheme but they want you to believe that they're completely independent. Beware. If you're a snake oil salesman who delights in harassing busy strangers and quick-talking them into signing up for stuff they don't need, this is the job for you! If not, don't walk the other way...RUN.
