Pros
•Some supervisors really care about how well you do and helping you improve your work with the children & families. •When your work with a family pays off, it feels REALLY good. •Health Benefits for 1 person are good. •PTO is great. •I love that I can make my own schedule & KVC is closed on weekends. That is one of my biggest reasons why I stay at KVC. •Another HUGE reason I stay at KVC is because my co-workers are amazing & I love the people I work with and how much they care about their job.
Cons
•There is 7382727272 on your to do list and only 40 hours in a work week. I don’t know ANYONE who actually works 40 hours a week & feels comfortable with what they can get done. •Rules/Regulations made by DCF/the state sometimes don’t make sense and it’s tough to follow rules you don’t necessarily agree with. •It’s hard when people ask you to have things done that are impossible to do. Some achievements can’t be done and that has to be okay. •The office is not family-friendly but is SUPPOSED to be family-friendly. •The people in this job that do not care about the children and families give those that really care a bad rep. •You do not get paid enough for the job you are asked to do. •Everyone is on-call every 2-3 months for a week. •Messes with your mental health, but there are EAP Services and you NEED to use your PTO.
