Pros

Benefits that make you want to tolerate the job but not worth it. 1,000 bonus after 3 months.

Cons

The person who trained staff practically lied about constant staff coverage. There have been moments when there was only one staff member working a unit which I find hazardous to staff and clients. Employees have less than high opinon on team leads. Constant text messages for coverage and you get points for not finding coverage for your shift. Hardly able to find coverage and use PTO. Despite being in training, I was put onto the floor during my shift by a former S&R. My training was not even extended after this. Hardly no people in ratio, no breaks, and hard to have a bathroom break. No shift differential pay made me want to tolerate the poor mangement this company has. You are better off working somewhere else.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your experience. The safety of employees and clients is our priority. Our leadership team continuously works to strategize and strengthen supporting our employees through training, pay increases, incentives for hard-to-fill shifts, and contracting with agency staff to cover shifts. Leadership also works with HR in urgency to fill open positions with talented individuals. We know there's always going to be areas for improvement, and we are doing our best to provide structure and support. As for management, KVC works with Gallup's Q12 employee engagement survey twice a year to get feedback from employees. We urge all employees to share their voice so that their managers can help support challenges they're facing together. We're intentionally working to train and equip managers with education and tools to better serve their teams. We're sorry we didn't get a chance to turn this around for you. We wish you the best of luck in your career.

Pros

Culture has transformed dramatically from toxic to accountable, clear, and kind over a decade Strong leadership development (Gallup, Dare to Lead frameworks) Weekly 1:1 supervision means employees know their supervisors well Real internal mobility entry level to director is achievable based on work ethic Mission-driven workforce, people genuinely care about the kids and families they serve High retention most people want to stay and grow within, even when their current role isn't ideal, they will move positions to stay Respectful, psychologically safe environment all opinions welcome Excellent medical/dental/vision benefits; decent 403b match Positive social environment with systems that naturally filter out toxic behavior over time Competitive pay within the nonprofit/mental health sector

Cons

Pay is significantly below for-profit market rates. nonprofit pay scale is a real tradeoff Director role is highly unstructured can feel chaotic, especially in 24/7 locations requiring after-hours work Toxic employees can linger too long the kindness and grace extended to everyone delays removal Some employees stay in roles that aren't a good long-term fit simply because they love the culture Heavy meeting load at director level can crowd out focused, strategic work
