Pros
-The work culture at Kabo was always friendly and the whole team works very hard and are passionate about their role. -The opportunity to work remotely is nice, with excellent work/life balance.
Cons
-Company is mismanaged by senior staff. Company is ran more like a fast-paced, silicon valley tech start up than a food production and distribution business. -There is a lot of communication problems, layoffs and turnover of staff. Therefore job security is always a problem. -Little opportunity for advancement. I was there for almost 5 years and my position was never expanded or received any pay increases or benefits/bonuses. Not even so much as a "good job" or card on Christmas. Additionally, I experienced 2 separate 13 week layoffs in just 2 years, tacked with the "it's not you, it's us speech". -Salaries are very poor and health/dental/medical benefits are non-existent (even when pressured during quarterly reviews to implement some sort of benefit plan). -Employees often felt taken advantage of and scapegoated when there were problems within a project or outcome. Some were essentially pressured to resign. -The company has now merged with a new parent company. Without as much control, senior management (which also struggled prior to the merger) is now floundering. Communication and project advancement is now more difficult than ever before.
