Pros

Working at Kaiser Associates/Kx Advisors out of college is one of the most jam-packed, productive, and immersive experiences you can possibly get at such a young age. The very early development opportunities are unseen at peer firms, and Associate Consultants can even get to present portions of deliverables to clients in their first couple months. Few firms provide their junior level staff with such significant early opportunities and that speaks volumes to Kaiser/Kx's trust in their people. On that note, junior staff get opportunities to manage significant and complex workloads, but with patient guidance and mentorship from mid and senior level staff. Whether it's managing primary research, conducting surveys, building models, or preparing deliverables, Associate Consultants get ample opportunities to learn the ropes and develop skills in project management and execution. Junior staff can experience both a great diversity of work and projects and also a small firm culture. Generalist junior staff at Kaiser have access to all practices, each of which are doing very interesting, relevant, and even global work with blue chip clients. Short projects (~3-8 weeks) allow generalist junior staff to experience many different projects within just a few months. While commonly stated everywhere, one can't go without praising the sheer caliber of people who work at Kaiser / Kx. Remarkable intelligence aside, Kaiser and Kx employees are most notably kind, collaborative, and downright interesting people. It's a wonderful group to work with, even with a virtual work environment.

Cons

While not nessecarily unique to Kaiser, some challenges remain with work-life balance especially in a virtual environment. Hours can potentially drag on and some weeks can be especially long, especially on more involved or challenging projects. Mid and senior leadership do make efforts to control overwork and promote WLB, but it still remains a challenge. Some processes can also use improvements, such as the primary sourcing process which can be tedious at times based on the tools and methodologies available. Moreover, there can sometimes be a lack of individuals at the firm who are familiar with certain tools like survey software, which can create issues for junior staff learning new tools for the first time.

Pros

People are very close to one another at the firm. They value work life balance highly and make sure that their ACs don't have to work late just because managers might be working late.

Cons

Bonus is not that big
