Pros
Great training, opportunities for advancement, employee discounts, and many, many wonderful people
Cons
It's painful to say anything negative about the company, but it's really gone downhill.
First, and worst of all, is that senior leadership can't be trusted. I personally caught one of the SVPs telling several serious lies, and I heard about several other instances. This same SVP swept safety instances under the rug, and while I avoided EthicsPoint because I knew what kind leadership is in place, I know 2 different people whose careers were damaged because instead of taking the concerns at face value like they're supposed to, leadership instead hunts down people who use EthicsPoint to make them "pay" for speaking up. It's incredibly unfortunate.
Other concerns:
- Uneducated bullies are the people Kal tends to promote the most. Turnover is higher at Kal Tire than other retail organizations, and it's easy to see why.
- Managers who know nothing about sales manage salespeople. It makes no sense.
- No work/life balance. They talk a very good game, but when push comes to shove, the expectation is that you devote your life to Kal Tire.
