Pros
- Relaxed culture: They move at a Pina Colada pace. Never a real sense of urgency even when you feel like their should be, This tends to generate a feeling of calm in your role and department. - Friendly co-workers: In almost every instance, you can find a friendly face and conversation on campus. - Decent Benefits: I am sure as time moves forward, the benefits will start to become industry standard. But as for now, some of their benefits are top tier for individuals like me who have had subpar benefits and every other company I have worked for.
Cons
- Siloed into your role/department: It is next to impossible to move between roles or departments. Do not confuse this with moving "Up" the ladder. Just simply swapping roles based on your skills or education. My advice, only apply to the department you want to move up in. Moving in a parallel direction doesn't work too well here. - Communication: The communication does not flow well here. Even in a positive sense. Someone can talk to you about an opportunity and it can sound promising and then communication just goes darks for months. Same with course corrective communication, More often than not you wont receive proper guidance on what you may be doing wrong or what you could be doing to improve. You hear about it once its "too late."
