Pros

- to be part of a company that is growing so fast and be able to see both the challenges, growth pains and all excitement and buzz is pretty cool. I have friends in similar companies who complain about burning through cash but this is not what happens at Kanopy - they have been around long enough to be profitable and careful with their spending - I really rate the people there- all super nice and fun...and funny too. The sales team dress up and there's random planking that takes place - I learnt a lot and was given a fair bit of responsibility

Cons

- the new CMO didn't work out so were left without a CMO. I didn't report into the CMO but it meant we had to be very self-sufficient for a while. Some of my colleagues found that hard and left and I can understand why

Pros

1) Very hands on/learning curve - the company is of a good size that you really get exposure to a lot of different parts of the business, own your work and learn fast 2) Stability - a lot of my friends are working at companies here in SF that have no clear revenue models or future and that yoyo pretty rapidly between "zero" and "hero". Kanopy has a solid business and stability for the future 3) Growth - company has been growing fast. I've been there just under 3 years and they've tripled the team and got some good partners on board 4) Lifestyle/culture - they have a big focus on the culture and work life balance here (e.g. weekly team activities, generous leave policy, etc) 5) People - there is a solid team of people here. Smart and hardworking people but also have a life (I sit beside an avid rockclimber and a french volleyball player!)

Cons

1) Onboarding - when I started a while back they didn't have the full onboarding process set up yet for getting new hires up and running. Probably understandable for a company of its size 3 years ago. To be honest, I think this has changed as they recently launched a new onboarding program for new hires and they are hiring a HR director right now too, so this is probably not a problem any more. They are also really good at career development and managing staff growth too (quarterly KPI meetings etc)
