Pros
Working for Kanto, I was blown away by the level of benefits available, though I regret not utilizing them before I was terminated. Very inclusive environment, friendly coworkers in the various departments.
Cons
Chain of command- essentially everyone is your supervisor, conflicting instruction and training becomes problematic when everyone undermines each others knowledge or tutelage. Backstabbing- workplace is a microcosm of petty jealousies, gossiping, and bitterness. Advancement-oppurtunists are the gatekeepers, nepotism and favoritism go further than experience and ethics. Training only given to fill company or department void, no progress is foreseeable once you are in the slot that needs filled. Overtime is only for people who have been there the longest, making the most money, and then making even more while sitting in the breakroom, or taking multiple cigarette breaks. Any effort on my part to do more training or stay late was dismissed unless they needed me to do something for them. Trust- from the moment I was hired, I was warned by everybody about everybody. Nobody trusts one another. See Backstabbing above. Safety-while the facility has many safety controls, they are often unreliable, alarms can go off, and I have reacted to them accordingly only to find out they are false or that they were being tested whilst no communication or additional training is provided, just passive acceptance. Storage tracking is corroded, highly damaged, and tight spaces for moving hazardous material, coupled with managements insistence on quantity of work rather than quality creates hazards, and accidents involving other employees occurred as a result of this, which was one of the main reasons I decided to finally leave. I strongly believe I or someone could be hurt or killed as a result of the dismissiveness of these hazards. Leadership-the company has many managers and supervisors, but lacking in actual Leadership, you will not receive positive reinforcement, you will be treated like an inferior person.
