Pros

Class sizes are still small (though the pressure is on to make this wonderful vestige of liberal arts education go bye-bye). Athletics aren't as dominant as other colleges and universities. The president Melinda Treadwell believes in transparency and does a good job. The faculty are represented by an effective union.

Cons

The institution is unstable. Every year there is a new initiative to shut down and blend departments, or cut essential staff and/or faculty positions. No matter what they do, they are still 6-10 million in the hole. Lots of staff and faculty positions have been cut; so the place feels like a ghost town. The university system trustees are unqualified to run a university system; they are politically appointed and out of touch with the student experience. The state of New Hampshire does not adequately support education; there is no income tax and the state has seen fit to divert public education monies into funding for home schooling, private religious education, and the like. The legislature has passed laws making it hard to teach African-American history and other diverse topics.

Pros

Flexible hours, on campus, can do homework when it's not busy and all other work has been completed.

Cons

Does not pay well. Minimum wage in NH is really low.

Pros

Great people and students, it's also a great state school

Cons

Personally, my leadership was never beneficial to my development since they were rarely available and/or provided guidance.
