Pros
The connections fostered amongst the staff community and with the campers are beautiful. Getting paid to live and work outside in Vermont summer is a dream and venturing into more remote areas for canoe and hiking trips is incredible.
Cons
Most of the central organization of the camp is outdated, so disseminating information is often inefficient. There is a lot of work to be done around staff support as it is an incredibly draining 24/7 job. Leadership is changing and things seem to be trending upwards in terms of staff retention, but the nature of living and working in one place tends to heighten conflict and frustration when it arises.
