Leadership is focused on Kelly’s long term success. Structure and tactics align to strategy. Laser focused on the mission. Huge effort to communicate up and down the ranks. Rational decision making. Great people culture. While they are very proud of their “Kelly Girl” history, they understand it’s just history. They instead like to quote Thompson: “Faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death”
Cons
The restructuring is a bit too much for the average employee to understand. I spent hours helping new colleagues understand them. Each decision is very logical and driven by the need to adapt to a rapidly changing marketplace. Some are smarter changes than others but that’s not the point. Kelly is testing and adapting based on the marketplace. Their structure is like a living organism responding to the marketplace. So if you join Kelly (and you should) do it knowing the risks and opportunities come from those changes. Just remember that what got you that great role, also might not be needed in 2 years, so embrace the thrill, don’t stand still, and keep learning.
