Not a good place to work unless you have years to waste or like playing the office politics game. - Customer Service Representative KeyBank Employee Review

Pros

Benefits are excellent, including matching 401(k) up to 6% but that's about it.

Cons

Upper management asks for but fails to act on feedback from employees for ways to improve on job performance and productivity. Instead they waste money that could go toward employee raises on outside contractors to conduct surveys and assessments that only reaffirm what employees already know. Henry Meyer is the typical bank CEO reaping millions of $'s in stock options and bonuses while the little people that helped him reach the company goals get either miniscule or no raises unless they are sales persons who hit their mark. You could work at this company for 10+ yrs or longer and never get paid according to your performance if you're not playing the office politics game. As a result, the turnover in customer service and bank braches is very high. Would not recommend this employer to anyone and would advise any current employee who has had a similiar experience to move on and cut your losses b/4 you spend too much time and effort wasting productive years that you could be making a decent income elsewhere.

Pros

Flexibility is what sells this place as a great place to work. Hybrid schedule, great PTO, no guilt trips for needing time off for family matters.

Cons

Your experience will vary greatly based on your manager. One asset manager can freely call in or wfh without worry where another AM may be reprimanded for the same. The insurance department is completely inept. Borrowers are constantly threatening to sue because our insurance dept management sucks. Very little training across most departments. Some people work very very hard, others dont work at all, there doesnt seem to be much oversight there. When a manager tells their employee "dont expect to get promoted next year" with no guidance or encouragement, you pretty much kill all motivation for that employee to do better. They will hire people as senior staff and pay them way more than their seasoned employees make, and then tell their seasoned employees not to expect a senior promotion.
