Pros

Low sales pressure compared to larger commercial banks.

Cons

Low pay for branch personnel. They are a CA company but pay on a national average which obviously doesn't work with Bay Area prices. Biased pay based on who you know and not what you do. I had 5 years of personal banking experience and had to train someone who had 0 years and was making more money than me. She ultimately quit a few months later. Senior management thinks they're running a company like Apple or Google and pay themselves as such when in fact, many of them do not know very much and lack education. Right-place, right-time is the story of their success, but they have an ego as if they invented the PC.

Pros

A few decent coworkers who make the day tolerable.

Cons

Run as fast as you can from this place. It's a trap, not a career! The pay is well below what you could get elsewhere, and once you're in the door, there's nowhere to move up. Upper management seems more interested in keeping their own cushy spots than actually addressing problems, and their idea of leadership feels more like control for the sake of control. Conversations with HR go nowhere, it's like talking into a void. On top of that, managers spin stories, twist words, and create an environment where people are always second-guessing themselves. It's no wonder the turnover is sky-high; anyone with options doesn't stick around for long.
