Caring management
Great kids
Structured activities make it easier to go thru the day
Great people to meet all around
Not high stress
workers got a raise only after 1 year of work
Only reason I’m not staying is so I can re enroll into school full time.
Cons
Not really a con but if you’re looking to get more hours but you’d probably have to get an office job with the organization rather than a counselor job.
If you love kids, and wish to gain patience in a multitude of areas, this job will be good for that. I started at 18 an hour; Received 19 an hour after my first year Absolutely adored the children & made beautiful memories.
Cons
Very difficult to work full time - contrary to advertisement. I was on a “waiting-list” for morning shifts for my entire duration working there. Pay fluctuates; Paystubs are also inconsistent. Different locations - sometimes daily. 9 times out of 10, you will not be placed in the same school the following year if you choose to continue. Not many supplies - we have to make it work. You may find yourself personally buying things for the program.
