Pros

The employees are the only saving grace here. Very nice people, hard working, and honestly the entire reason the brand is still around, no thanks to the namesake.

Cons

Where do I start? If you are in a manager position, expect to be held to unfair standards and micro-managed daily, in every aspect of your job, from how you prioritize your daily work to how you communicate with your team. No matter what expertise of best practice or experience you come in with, the CEOs opinion is all that matters and you will only succeed if you are agreeable and subservient to her. If not- you may encounter volatile, tantrum-like outbursts and humiliating, degrading language in front of others. Expect redundant projects and last-minute demands from the CEO simply to assert dominance. While the importance of open communication and collaboration is constantly preached, there is little flow of communication or sharing of important company-wide updates - instead, people are left in the dark while the CEO practices favoritism to a select few. Turnover is high and there is no onboarding or training as you start, you are left to figure it out - and quickly. While employees are very nice, it is sadly a painfully quiet, keep-your-head-down, clock in and out, timed-lunch break, prison-adjacent office environment where people are afraid to god-forbid have fun while they work because the CEO will call them out. While everyone wears several hats and takes on additional responsibilities to help the brand, there is no expressed gratitude or recognition. In fact, asking for a performance review or a raise may put you at risk for getting replaced.

Kim Seybert Response

Thank you for sharing your experience. At Kim Seybert Inc., we take all feedback seriously and are committed to fostering a positive and productive workplace. We are proud to be a small, dynamic, and fast-paced company where most of our team members have thrived for 5, 10, or even more years — a testament to the strong culture and passionate team we have built together. The loyalty and longevity of so many of our employees speaks to an environment where dedicated, driven individuals genuinely flourish. We recognize that a high-energy, entrepreneurial environment is not the right fit for everyone, particularly for those who may be more accustomed to the structure of a larger organization with dedicated support teams and formal HR infrastructure. When there is a mismatch between a candidate's working style and our culture, it can understandably lead to frustration on both sides — and that is something we continuously work to address through our hiring and onboarding processes. We are always looking for ways to improve communication, recognition, and support for our team. We encourage anyone with concerns to reach out directly so we can address them thoughtfully and constructively. We wish all former employees well and remain committed to building a workplace where the right people can do their best work.

Pros

I have worked at Kim Seybert for more than 10 years, and reading some of the negative reviews honestly made me feel disappointed because they do not reflect the experience I have had during my time here. I joined the company as a recent college graduate with very limited real-world experience. Over the years, I have grown into an upper-level management role and have had opportunities that I likely would not have received so early in my career at a much larger organization. Looking back, I am grateful for the trust and responsibility that were given to me along the way. One of the things I appreciate most is that my learning was never limited to my own department. Working in a small business environment allowed me to gain exposure to finance, operations, logistics, inventory management, sales, customer service, HR, technology, and strategic planning. This broader understanding of how a business operates has been invaluable to my professional development and is something that would have been difficult to gain in a highly specialized corporate environment. Another aspect that differs from some of the reviews is management style. In my experience, I have never felt micromanaged. I have been trusted to make decisions, solve problems, take ownership of projects, and manage my responsibilities independently. Leadership has always been accessible when support was needed, but I have generally been given the freedom to do my job and contribute ideas. Like any company, especially a small and growing business, there are always areas that can improve. Processes evolve, priorities change, and challenges arise. However, over the years I have seen management invest in new systems, improve operations, listen to employee feedback, and adapt as the business grows. The products are beautiful, the brand has a strong reputation, and the people genuinely care about the company. Many employees stay for years, which I believe says a lot about the culture and work environment. After more than a decade with Kim Seybert, I can honestly say that the company has played a significant role in both my professional and personal growth. It has given me opportunities to learn, take on new challenges, and build a career far beyond what I imagined when I first joined as a recent graduate.

Pros

Beautifully crafted products, something you're genuinely proud to be associated with. The culture is entrepreneurial at its core. If you're self-motivated, fast-moving, and hungry to make an impact, this is the place for you. Ideas are welcomed, ownership is encouraged, and you're given the opportunity to actually execute. The pace is fast, but that's what makes it exciting — there's never a dull moment. For anyone who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to grow both professionally and personally, this company offers incredible opportunities.

Cons

Its a fast pace environment which means you need to be organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities. The learning curve can be steep at first, but the team is supportive and it pushes you to grow quickly.
