Pros

I love being a part of a company that truly lives their values each day. I work for Youth Solutions, one of KG’s subsidiaries, and I’m constantly inspired by the supportive, mission-driven culture. My coworkers across the state are passionate, collaborative, and genuinely care about making a difference. One of the best parts is how people from different teams and subsidiaries show up for each other - whether it’s job fairs, youth events, or graduations, there’s always a strong sense of teamwork with the goal of a positive, community and/or statewide impact. It feels like everyone is working toward the same big-picture goal, and that makes the work incredibly fulfilling.

Cons

For those of us who live farther from the main office, traveling for all-team meetings a couple of times per year (that may not always directly apply to someone who lives hours away's day-to-day work) can be a bit of a challenge. That said, the intention behind bringing everyone together is clear - it’s about connection and culture - but it can still be a heavy lift logistically for remote staff.

Pros

Kinexus Group is an energizing and inspiring place to work. What sets it apart is the unique structure - multiple mission-driven organizations working together to create meaningful impact in communities across Michigan. It’s exciting to be part of such a dynamic system where innovation is welcomed and big ideas are encouraged. There’s also a strong focus on people and culture. The organization is intentional about aligning talent with roles that fit, and they do a great job supporting staff development. High performers are recognized and given real opportunities to grow, and the ever-evolving nature of the work and variety of career paths within the organization makes it a place where you can build a long and fulfilling career.

Cons

The mission-driven environment can be intense. When you genuinely care about the work and the people you serve, it’s hard not to go above and beyond - which can sometimes make it difficult to find balance. Like many nonprofits and community-focused organizations, resources can be limited, which adds to the challenge.
