Don't plan on a promotion past PM level - Program Manager Kleinfelder Employee Review

Pros

Challenging environment. Awesome company to work for early in your career to use as leverage for the next company. If you are an engineer or PE you will be treated above all other degrees from the time you interview.

Cons

Very thick glass ceiling for women or non-PE or PG's. Huge boys club even when you are asked to be an exclusive 'direct owner'. The only people promoted past PM level are the men or very few women who are the elite in the companies KLF aquires. The upper management does not fire poor managers regardless of mass exodus of junior staff giving scathing exit interviews. They turn blind eyes to blatant discrimination. Oh and don't plan on having kids and choosing to work 40 hours because you will be discussed behind closed doors as not being a good employee regardless of the years of 60 hour weeks. Constant reorganization and $ being spent to do so could be used in much better ways, like salaries.

Pros

Gained a lot of experience in the field Thorough onboarding and training Covered a required certification process Will help immensely for my future Overall, friendly and helpful employees

Cons

6:30 a.m. start time was a tough adjustment, but I ultimately got used to it. I did cry at the end of my time there, because I knew I would miss the people.

Pros

- lovely coworkers - some really cool projects since Kleinfelder wins lots of different types of projects! thankfully i had good relationships with the project managers, but peers that don't have a long history don't have enough work flow or don't get to work on projects they want to - very caring boss - flexible work from home policy

Cons

- incredibly repetitive sometimes - inconsistent work and stress related to staying billable - drab and uninspiring workplace energy - lots of non-optional travel - anyone other than my boss and direct peers was not caring - it's all just a bit corporate and no one is really in love with what they're doing - barely got raises consistent with inflation
