Pros
In the appliance department, your job is talking to people. Not too bad getting paid to do this. Also, you are introduced to many different aspects of the appliance business, which may not be very beneficial, but it may come as interesting.
Cons
Although this is a sales position, often management does not distinguish it as different from any other position in the store. Kmart and Sears salesmen should be treated the same and be left free to sell. You will be asked to do work outside the department, you will learn to despise it. Managers not very willing or able to solve problems that you can't.
