Pros

Contract work. Can pick your own hours.

Cons

Pay per chart with an extremely low rate per chart. The scale is based on 0-2 days, 3-5, 6-10 and >10 days. This makes it very hard to really make a decent amount of money compared to being paid for your hourly work. The LOS does not impact the difficulty of the chart. you may get a 2 day stay where multiple procedures were done with many diagnoses that takes a long time to complete or a 15 day stay where no procedures were done. There should be a way to limit the type of charts that fall into each time frame and pay more based on the difficulty of the chart. This just is not comparable to the type of pay you can get working as an hourly employee. Also there is no real management. No one to give suggestions to or to care how the companies that you are contracted with treat you.

Pros

Paid weekly There isn’t any other pro

Cons

High benefits Holidays were included in PTO Co-founders unprofessional. Stated the culture of the place but was totally opposite when hired. Company ran by high school values: he said / she said, cliquish vibes. Unrealistic and unattainable duties Micromanaging salaries employees with a tool that didn’t work half the time. I got fired over an email and they contested my unemployment. High turnover rate Not a good place to work; very stressful. I had no SOP for a new position but got fired for “so called not doing my job” I had nothing to go on. When really I challenged an unrealistic task. They got mad and told on me. Founder fired me through email.
