Pros
Benefits and that’s it. No work life balance
Cons
My experience at Kolter was significantly impacted by poor management in the Port St Lucie area. The manager overseeing the team had little to no prior leadership experience, and it showed in the way employees and workplace concerns were handled. There was a noticeable culture of favoritism, and she was involved in gossips which was often tolerated or even encouraged. She would make phone calls to her “favorites” to keep them up to date with gossip about employees and even giving certain access to information that only pertained to management. Certain employees appeared to receive preferential treatment regardless of circumstances, which created frustration and inconsistency across the team.
Her management style was frequently condescending and unprofessional, creating unnecessary stress and tension. Employees were often criticized through group emails with large numbers of recipients copied, which felt more like public embarrassment than constructive coaching or problem-solving.
Performance and results did not always seem to be the primary factors in how employees were treated. High-performing team members who were not part of the manager’s inner circle often faced additional challenges and a lack of support. Rather than fostering a collaborative and motivating environment, management practices sometimes created obstacles that made it difficult for employees to succeed and feel valued.
Top performers have left the company due to poor management.
Overall, while Kolter has potential as a company, stronger leadership, better communication, and a more professional management approach would greatly improve the employee experience
