Cons
It sucks having to suggestive sell people stuff they don't want. They have secret shoppers that will come and secretly monitor if you are following the 5-point policy of 1. Greeting 2. Ask for fuel 3. Suggestive sell 4. Thank you 5. Return comment. If you miss one of these, especially the suggestive sell, it results in a penalty against you which can lead to termination if it happens 3 times. 3 times. That's it. A little ridiculous. People always get mad about us suggestive selling but you don't have a choice. you must say it. There is a lot expected of you too. Lots of responsibilities that must be completed each shift and you can get in trouble if all of the duties are not finished in time. It's very stressful when you have to be running the register while getting chores done. Often under-staffed which makes getting things accomplished very difficult. Long-term people are not penalized very hard, get away with a lot of unacceptable work behavior without getting written up. Only get 2 ten minute breaks per 8 hour shift, no lunches. Don't know how that's legal. You're monitored so heavily with video cameras everywhere and even a microphone behind the register, feels like Big Brother is always watching.
