Pros

There are NO pros to working for this "organization". Sorry, but that's the truth. I wasted valuable time of my career here and I regret not leaving sooner than I did.

Cons

Do not pay attention to the solitary 5 star review here. That was probably posted by a current employee under the threat of losing their job because the CEO is a bully and a crook who only cares about himself and his COO husband. The rest of the reviews are the most accurate. The work environment is horrible and if you don't fit the status quo you are ridiculed until you no longer want to work there. Employees are overworked and underpaid because management is too busy lining their own pockets. There is NO transparency in regards to funding which is extremely fishy for a non-profit to do. Money hungry management is only interested in raising money for themselves. They destroyed a 24 year tradition of Pride in Huntington by moving the festivities to Long Beach. In general, there are so many better LGBT organizations on Long Island and in NYC that BETTER serve the community because they CARE about the community and not about making money.

Pros

Pros are the work we do everyday for the community and the support we get from the top down. After this latest election I am thankful I can do meaningful work and completely be myself and have the support from leadership.

Cons

Hard work but don't consider this a con.

Pros

I met some cool people.

Cons

Just stay away. The CEO pockets donation money, and the organization is mired in legal issues. The network exploits employees, fueling a high turnover rate, and offers no pay adjustments when workload increases. Management couldn’t care less about the relationships you build with participants or families, and they’ll feed false stories to clients when letting staff go. They’ll smile to your face, then undermine you behind your back. Harassment by strangers or even higher-ups is ignored. Expect to work yourself to exhaustion with zero appreciation. And judging by the luxury cars in the parking lot, you’d never guess this was a nonprofit.
