Pros

They provide good training by sending in people to work one on one, but only after months of transition hell! There does seem to be a chance to move around in the company to other positions and advance to other opportunities, but I wouldn't know for sure because I was in the layoff group after they bought our company. They do have updated software.

Cons

They are seemingly buying as many home health agencies as possible. When they acquire a company, the support is horrible during the transition period. They turn small home health agencies into corporate America! Patients suffer in both transition and their ownership! Long term patients were cut because they didn't bring in enough money. They laid off half the company, many long term (30yrs) employees without notice, and expect those that are left to do two peoples jobs! Home Health must be a compassionate business and LHC is all about the dollar. They are corporate America!

Pros

Autonomy, days go by quick, expectations are defined.

Cons

Unmanageable workload/cases. Expected to fulfill number of points per week. Charting beyond business hours every day. Start of care visits also included hands on care. One visit took 3 hours because of 8 wounds and that didn’t include documentation. Oasis is tedious and comprehensive. Territory was supposed to be 10 minutes from home; it was not. Sometimes 45 minutes between each case with 5-6 cases for the day. Totally unmanageable for a seasoned and organized nurse. I cannot imagine how it would be for a less experienced nurse. Overworked and overwhelmed my entire time. I learned a lot from training modules but then you’re out on your own to troubleshoot. Unless you’re willing to hustle every single day and are willing to chart during dinner time and then still take time to confirm next day’s appointments, stay away.
