Pros

Good systems to work from. The documentation system is easy to use and is very comprehensive. Good at providing resources as needed.

Cons

Poor management of employee relationships and understanding. Productivity levels are set at corporate and are nationwide with little to no understanding of individual circumstances like terrain, demographics of an area, and additional branch commitments. Corporate spends time with the branch managers but does not interact with employees. This makes it difficult to express employee-level issues unless the branch manager is willing to fight for your needs. In my case, this was the problem. My specific branch was unwilling to fight for my needs. My branch made corporate out as a monster that you don't want to interact with and that the only time corporate would interact with a lower level employee is because they were doing something wrong.

Pros

LHC group is a good company to work for. They offered training and support from management. I would say a solid company culture from my experience. I felt supported and checked on by my team.

Cons

Cons depend on the agency you work for. I had a good experience with my location and team.

Pros

Autonomy, days go by quick, expectations are defined.

Cons

Unmanageable workload/cases. Expected to fulfill number of points per week. Charting beyond business hours every day. Start of care visits also included hands on care. One visit took 3 hours because of 8 wounds and that didn’t include documentation. Oasis is tedious and comprehensive. Territory was supposed to be 10 minutes from home; it was not. Sometimes 45 minutes between each case with 5-6 cases for the day. Totally unmanageable for a seasoned and organized nurse. I cannot imagine how it would be for a less experienced nurse. Overworked and overwhelmed my entire time. I learned a lot from training modules but then you’re out on your own to troubleshoot. Unless you’re willing to hustle every single day and are willing to chart during dinner time and then still take time to confirm next day’s appointments, stay away.
