Pros

My direct manager was great. My PCM was great……that’s where it stops

Cons

1. ED has way too much say over sales with zero help when really needed 2. You can’t grow without staff. I was expected to grow a territory with zero clinicians in the area. 3. The ED and office manager are besties and constantly would cover for each other. Our office was left without a nurse in house (against LHC policy) and the non clinical office manager made clinical decisions. 4. The lack of communication between the office staff/field staff/intake and sales was to the detriment of the company. 4. It’s easy to blame sales for lack of growth when operations can manipulate budget numbers. 5. Operations could use a refresher on CMS guidelines. A patient starting dialysis doesn’t remove home bound status. That shouldn’t even be a fight sales has to have.

LHC group is a good company to work for. They offered training and support from management. I would say a solid company culture from my experience. I felt supported and checked on by my team.

Pros

Autonomy, days go by quick, expectations are defined.

Cons

Unmanageable workload/cases. Expected to fulfill number of points per week. Charting beyond business hours every day. Start of care visits also included hands on care. One visit took 3 hours because of 8 wounds and that didn’t include documentation. Oasis is tedious and comprehensive. Territory was supposed to be 10 minutes from home; it was not. Sometimes 45 minutes between each case with 5-6 cases for the day. Totally unmanageable for a seasoned and organized nurse. I cannot imagine how it would be for a less experienced nurse. Overworked and overwhelmed my entire time. I learned a lot from training modules but then you’re out on your own to troubleshoot. Unless you’re willing to hustle every single day and are willing to chart during dinner time and then still take time to confirm next day’s appointments, stay away.
