Pros
Decent pay, a few good people trying to make do.
Cons
Poor management. Decisions are made top down with little to no consolation or consideration of the people they will affect. Vast majority of management staff lack lab experience but are the ones writing policies. Unethical and unsafe practices that potentially invalidate results, put the company at risk for lawsuits, and leave employees with numerous safety risks. I’m not sure how auditing went after I left, but my hope is a considerable amount of the unjust practices were brought to light. Nepotism. Everyone is connected in some way. This can make transparency difficult when relations are tied together. Retaliation to concerned employees. The best way to make it at Lux Diagnostics is to keep your head down and say yes to everything. Everyone I interacted with was afraid of management. It’s a company that leads with fear. Volatility. To be expected from a start-up, however combined with everything stated above, the lack of consistency leads to vague direction and more opportunities to fail as goal posts are consistently changed.
