Pros

- Talented roster of intelligent colleagues - Solid product - Mid-Level managers and ICs are competent - Executives are productive - Rocketship - Great equity and above average comp

Cons

- Burnout in the pursuit of meeting unachievable expectations set by leaders who don't care about you - All roads lead to 2-3 execs who own every decision - "Did I just join a B2B SaaS company or the Marines?" - If work life balance is in your top 5, don't even sniff it - At times operates like a 50 person company with nearly 1,000 employees - "What is product even doing back there. I never know what they're doing" - Nauseatingly painful growth - Trickle down stress that is palpable regardless of your position - Your manager will go to bat for you until it impedes on their M.O. - Severe lack of empathy and opportunistic culture resulting from pressure - You will frequently consider the pros & cons of: does the pursuit of money outweigh the percentage of my soul which has been sacrificed in its pursuit? - Everyone is afraid and aging faster than a president at wartime

Pros

Very intelligent people and an awesome rise at one point

Cons

What a disgraceful ending to what could have been a career changing opportunity for many. You can point fingers in every direction but the product was garbage and the 2021 executive changes were ultimately what sank the company. Following the acquisition Lacework decided to return $0 to former employees who exercised their ISOs.. i.e. the team who built and scaled the company from $1m-$90m in revenue. All while paying the investors, c-suite, and current employees who helped tank the company a nice premium. The C-Suite as it stands today is the worst I've seen in my 25+ year career. Soulless, directionless, tone deaf leaders steering a zombie business in whatever direction the wind blows. SHV brand has been ruined in the process. Lead investor saying "I'd die before this company fails!" on an all hands call, then taking Lacework off of his LinkedIn profile, is all you need to know about the company/culture/product that is Lacework. Good luck trying to replicate the Snowflake growth model across your portfolio.
